Ayurveda is called the science of life. It is a very old natural medicine that aims to maintain good health. Understanding Ayurveda helps to live in harmony with nature and to prevent illnesses. This holistic health system understands that the consciousness, mind and body are in interaction with nature, people and the environment.
We all have our own constitution that forms of space, air, fire, water and earth. These elements are divided into doshas; three fundamental energies. Vata is air and ether. Pitta forms of fire and water and Kapha of water and earth. Our individual constitution (Prakruti) doesn´t change throughout the lifetime. Prakruti is our own combination of emotional, mental, and physical patterns.
By understanding our individual constitution we can stay healthy. This means constantly adjusting our lives to the rhythm of nature and understanding what kind of choices are the best. The daily choices are really important and to find a routine that is individually good for us. When you learn more about ayurveda, you learn what daily routines are good especially for you.
